Senior Research Scientist, NeuRA
Dr Justine Gatt completed her PhD in Psychology from the University of Sydney in 2005. She undertook postdoctoral training in genetics and neuroimaging of risk markers for mental illness at the Brain Dynamics Centre, University of Sydney from 2005 to 2008. Dr Gatt was then awarded an ARC Linkage Postdoctoral Fellowship for the TWIN-E study, which looked at over 1600 twins matching brain markers with emotional stability.
In 2014, Dr Gatt was subsequently awarded a NHMRC Career Development Fellowship in the neuroscience and genetics of resilience, and ways to promote optimal wellbeing using e-health strategies. Dr Gatt brought this resilience research program to the School of Psychology, University of New South Wales in 2014, with a conjoint position at NeuRA. In 2016, Dr Gatt was promoted to Senior Research Scientist and Group Leader of the Gatt Resilience Group, where she leads several projects focusing on the neuroscience and genetics of resilience and mental wellbeing.
